TrueColors Perdictions

I think that Mrs. Ridgon is blue because she is nice and cares about her students. I think that Mr. Boyers is gold because he wants to get things done and on time. I think that Mr. Ogle is orange because he is laid back and is fun to be around. I think that Mr. Happ is green because he is a physics and math teacher and he is always seeking knowledge. I think that Karsyn is a blue because she cares about her friends and family. I think that Salem is orange becasue he is fun. I think that Colin is green because he is always seeking knowledge and Tyler is gold because he wants to get things done and he has a strong sense of whats wrong and right.

My TrueColors

Yesterday, my career exploration class and I took a little quiz thing that told you your color based on the things you do and your personality. My color was green then orange, blue, and lasty gold. Green means that I seek knowledge and understanding, I live by my own standard, I need explanations and answers, I value intelligence, insight, integrity, and justic, and I am a natural non-comformist, a visionary, and a problem solver. Even though im green, I have orange too. Orange means that I am a natural trouble-shooter, a performer, and a competitor. I may not be a performer or a competitor, but maybe in the future I will be competing and performing while being intelligent and solving problems.

Business, Management, and Administration

The past couple of days my class and I have been researching business, management, and administration. The two careers that I did were general and operations managers anf food service managers. General and operations managers plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of public or private sector organizations. They need to know how to be clerical, be good at math, and have speech clarity. They also need an associate's degree and make $95,440 in the U.S. and in New York they make $116,100. The second career that I did was a food service manager. Food service managers plan, direct, or coordinate activities of an organization or department that serves food and beverages. They need to know how to educate and train, know about food production, and know about sales and marketing. Also, they need less than a high school diploma and make $47,960 in the U.S. and make $62,400 in New York. Business, management, and administration is a cluster I may consider during the rest of my high school career and before I go into college.

My Learning Style

For the past couple of days me and the rest of my career exploration class have been taking a test at CareerCrusing.com that says what your type of learning style you have. The web site said that im a visual learner, that means that I learn better by reading a article or book and can learn by seeing things like charts, graphs, and pictures. It also means that I should use flash cards, images, and pictures to study. This impacts my learning by helping me learn by seeing. In my future this will help me understand without hearing or doing something, but i'll have to do those "things" in the future.

Human Services

What our class has been doing this week is to find info about the human services career cluster. I found info about a recreation worker and a costume attendents. Recreation workers conduct activities for public, private, and voluntter groups. They make $22,00 in the U.S. and in Illinois the make $20,000. They also need a high school diploma and the projected growth of the job is 10% to 19. The next career I found info for was a costume attendent. Costume attendent's select, fit, and take care of costumes for cast members. They make $36,760 in the U.S. and in New York they make $66,300. They also need only need a high school diploma and the projected growth is 10% to 19%. These careers do not matter to me at all. They do not matter to me because I don't think that I'm going to be in a career in the human services cluster.

Connections Between STEM Careers

The connection that I made between the 2 STEM careers was that the main subject of the careers are the same. A chemist and physicist study the structure and behaivor of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
